St. Paul Lutheran Church Parish Nurse
Parish Nursing – Working Within Your Church
Hi, I am Jennifer King and I am the Parish Nurse at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ontario, OR. I became the Parish Nurse in November of 2005 after becoming certified through an intensive training course designed to prepare those nurses who want to become parish nurses. I have been a Registered nurse since 1996 when I graduated from Wenatchee Valley College. I also have a Baccalaureate of Science in Business Administration from Central Washington University and am currently pursuing a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing from Boise State University. During my nursing career I have worked in Emergency, Medical/Surgical, Pre-operative, post-operative, Critical Care, Corrections and Hospice. Throughout my career choice, I have found great joy and a sense of fulfillment by helping others at a time of need. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to become the first Parish Nurse at St. Paul’s.
